Where to eat?/Where do you eat after or before going to La Coahuila?

This was a favorite taco cart of mine.

However, about two months ago, a taco stand opened in the building, on this very corner, and it is my new favorite place to eat in La Zona. Most tacos and food items are 10 pesos (Al Pastor tacos are only 6 pesos) and are very good.

There is a stand on the corner...but I thought he was referring to the shop two doors down...It closed in 2008. They had good tacos as well.

The cart on the corner was always my favorite...maybe still is, but has changed a lot since the lady that owned it sold it.

Agreed. I've had the tacos from the stand on this corner and for the price (11pesos), the quality is outstanding. My favorite.

Maybe you are referring to Al Capone's which is a restaurant. The taco shop has been closed for a couple of years at least.

In my opinion, the best tacos are from a taco stand located next to the seafood cocktail stand.

Exit AB, turn left and walk to the corner, turn left at the corner and you will first see the seafood cocktail stand.

Next you will see the mobile taco stand. They usually start in the afternoon and end way past midnight. There are usually at least 3 guys working. 1 or 2 working the girl and another collecting the money.

Tacos are a buck and there always a lot of to go orders from the various bars. I know it's a good sign when I see the locals eating there.

I always eat a few carne asada, a few carnitas, and make sure you load up on the condiments. Get "todo" or everything on them from the grill man. After, pile on the radishes, grilled green onions, lots of different salsas.

Yummy. I don't know why they can't replicate these tacos here in So Cal.

After you've done DATY at la zona I cant diffenciate between good tacos and so so tacos.

What I'd like to know if the are any brave souls out there that have tried the oysters off the guy pushing the wagon with "fresh" oysters. I love oysters but I am scared shitless cause I have eaten some in questionable conditions and nearly landed in the hospital.

I am a big fan of Los Polluelos (sp?) restaurant. It is just a couple of blocks from La Zona. It's on Martinez just north of 2nd (Juarez). It's just a block from the cathedral which is just a block from La Zona. Great rotisserie chicken. Great mole. Many locals eat there. Good service and dynamite prices.

The Taco shop next to Club Chicago has the best El Pastor Tacos. $1 each and a Coke is $1. That's a meal for after the sex unless you buy tooth paste.

While is not the taco thread Tatas4me asked for is close enough. I'm like Sampsonrico. I'm not a discriminating eater. I've eaten my share of tacos and I still can't say which ones are the best so I'm not any help in this department.

Two of my most memorable eating moments after my trips to La Coahuila were when I ate tacos from that Jack in the Box near the border. Man I remember it like if it was yesterday. I remember it was a cold night and those tacos hit the spot. They were so tasty. I actually remember that moment more than the chica or chicas I banged that night.

The other memorable moment was when we stopped by the 7-11 near the border after coming from TJ. My buddy paid first with all dollar bills. Then I paid after. Also with all dollar bills. I told the guy "we are not coming from the same place". And we all had a big laugh. Again I don't remember who I banged that night. Anyone else care to share?
