VTCT Level 3 Cert Sports Massage

What pre-requisites would you expect ?

The VTCT curriculum isn't in question because having spoken to them I know that they have produced a curriculum in line with the NOS's.

As I am sure you are aware I was referring to the individual schools that run the courses. How are you mapping these courses. Is it from a detailed break down of the individual course syllabus provided by the school or is it from the general course information pages of the schools website for potential students. If it is the latter then that cannot give an accurate assessment of the course.

I am with TotalTherapy regards the Barnes School comments. Are the members of the SRTC prepared for any legal action from any of these schools that are being slated on a public forum?

Im critical of schools that have disregard to standards, if you dont like it, I suggest that everytime you see a posting by me, you dont read it, otherwise you are never going to be a happy bunny.

If I was worried about legal action, I wouldnt come on this forum and say what I do. If you want fluffy rose coloured postings, full of spin and conjecture then dont read my postings. SportsMassage, as an FHT member, I find your posting not only offensive, but also highly hypocritical, and I shall be putting in an official complaint not only to FHT but also to SMA ,and I would urge other FHT members to do the same!

As you are quite obviously superior to the rest of us FHT members, then I would ask that you respond to the questions and statements put to you, instead of hiding behind empty words, attacks and challenges.

I met him yesterday BGFL, as I said in a post I thoroughly enjoyed my 1st day on the course, I am going to enjoy my 31 week course learning with this guy, he knows his stuff and I am not disappointed. Again thanks for your advice, invaluable as usual

May I ask a question though, you said you attended a University and didnt complete the course for some reason, what was the reason?

Tell me where to go if you dont want to but i found compared to my last course the content a lot better!

On a brighter subject though I just looked over the FHT sports therapy conference, looks tempting to go to, particularly C Platts section on the psoas, im a bandwagon therapis for core stuff, I love it (sad?)

I am not going to be drawn into petty mudslinging, you asked me for help with your preceived substandard training course, and even you cant get the full syllabus to me for mapping. you asked the same of at least 2 other people I know.
I can tell you however that the internet based research I do is the starting point, I have several tried and tested ways of getting detailed syllabii from training providers, it is not hard to do and even those with a modest amount of intelligence can get any of the details regarding any advertised course. I even have a detailed breakdown of the course you are trying to complete. I dont however want to nursemaid you through the problems you are experienceing in completing your course, you are still a student and have redress against your training provider if they do not fulfill the contract that will be detailed in their own terms and conditions.

It seems very obvious to me that there are those on here who are quick to jump on any detractor bandwagon and belittle the work that those of us are doing to forward the industry, I have made an offer for you to become involved and use your obvious passion for the benefit of others in the industry but you simply PM'd us to say "good luck with your work"..

There are always going to be differences of opinion between various PAs and individuals but we are all doing what we believe is best for the industry, there are no egos at work here.

I could do with some help to collate information on courses that are advertised below NOS and CC, are you up for it ??

I dont know you, and we have never met. I just cannot understand how we have gone from talking about level 3 sports massage qualifications to you being extremely derogatory to 100 FHT members, and even encouraging people to check these people out. I can only imagine what would happen if I contacted the first 100 people in the London area, as you suggested, and pointed them to your posting, I know that SMA would be inundated with a massive amount of complaints, and you as the Vice Chair would be responsible.

Going off topic here again so I will be brief, uni course was not fit for purpose, completely outdated information was given, but worse, incorrect and dangerous information was given. I have kept this in case I wasn't believed This wasn't a 3 year uni degree though so the content would be massively different from your own 3 year degree, and I will add, drastically inferior.

As for attending the FHT conference, I hope you enjoy Christians talk and his techniques help you to be as successful as him if you aren't already. And actually his talk is not specifically on the core, more about the pelvis. Maybe you will also come and say hello?

Ps there was no dig in that last posting (paranoia setting in now) but the techiqniques Christian uses have amazing results on his clients which has resulted in him being exceptionally busy as a therapist and getting referrals from across the country who travel to his clinic, so hopefully he can inspire.
