The Shipwreck’s new teak bar is real cool, must have cost a few bucks but a real investment for his regular customers. It’s the cleanest bar on Bangla and has a toilet that is the envy of the others. Have a look at the compass inlays on the bar tops near the street, real craftsmanship. The prices are the same except Singha, 10bt. more. The Shipwreck is best location to view the walkers at night. The owner also gave a big spread when the US Navy was in town last month. The owner is a giver not a taker, check it out.

I was in the bar the other day and saw that construction was going on. The work was very nice and I remember a while back it was different design. I just yahoo searched ‘The Shipwreck’ and it and came up with Phuket-info.com forum. I registered to put my 2cents in that’s all.
Love this site and you will be hearing me from time to time.
The staff is always freaking-out because everyone on the street is using them because it seems to be better than most, I am told.

I like this bar a lot, used to be my regular saturday afternoon with henry and rab, and occasionally i would stumble in at 8am when i could not sleep, was very surprised to see it open so early, still pop in every trip as there are a bunch of brits use it as a meeting place most days.

Yep, perhaps better than most, but still not nice by any means, actually most of the bars down that side of the street do not have nice toilets. I really think it is a major bonus to have nice toilets, Soi eric now being an example, but thenicest i have seen are like ones in gullivers in BKK and walking street in Patts.

2nd pic. rain or shine the shipwreck was my bar in patong! the guy in the pic with shirt off and tattoos( no it's not so-cal) was in the punk band "exploited"..seen him around patong every afternoon completely wasted! guess he was still getting some royalties. 555555!
