Ratri Jazz Restaurant Kata Beach

Just looking through some info on Kata Beach and saw this place
Ratri Jazztaurant
Wondered if anyone had been there to know what it is like. Looks a cool place from the website with some great views to the beach areas.

I saw your thread earlier Greenwood but didn't post as I've only been there twice and that was about a year ago, so thought someone else would answer with more up to date info.

Okay my info, I like it, its a long staircase up to the restaurant, but worth the climb because really good views across Kata/Karon and out to sea. I remember it as not too expensive, only had a snack and a couple of beers, but went back for one more time, so couldn't have felt ripped off.

Second time i sort of remember a jazz band playing music that I liked but didn't pay too much attention to them and their level of sound I felt good, but low so not to interfere with your conversation, more background, hence I don't seem to have much to say about them.

So my conclusion, well worth a visit.

I also havent been there in more than 3 years.. But Dodger pretty much called it.

One bastard set of stairs.. OK on a cool evening but I remember walking up there in afternoon sun to get to the place feeling all hot and bothered. Once there good view out over Karon, and a low volume band plinking away..

Good place to go for a teeny bit more sophisticated feel than something like that Kata Reggae bar lookout.. Similar intention but totally different approach if that makes any sense.

Thanks for that, looks a good place for a late lunch and some early evening drinks. In relation to the steep walk, there is a place I visited in Ao Nang that is located on the side of the hill overlooking (Queens Bay).
Has a very long driveway and in the evenings, provides transport for those who cannot make it from the entrance on the side of the road to the property.
The lift up there is all fine till you get to the very very steep set of stairs that you have to negotiate to get in and out the place. I found as you said, once in there the view and ambience make up for the hassle of getting there. Thanks again for the reply
