PIRATEs BAR ... need opinion

i went there a couple of times last year in sept. - drinks were 90b a beer then & BF i think it was 1000B - these prices were last year so may have changed, not sure of ST/LT prices, some good lookers in there, when i was there quite a few ppl in there,
one downside is there is no toliet & u have to use one down soi croc at back, past all LB's, or some ppl were using the aussie bars wc.
also the stairs are very steep, when it rains it is very slippery,saw a few ppl slip & fall including myself.

You don't have to take Soi croc's toilet, take Soi Eric's toilet.
My buddy BFd 1 one the best looking girls in there, 600 BF & 1500 LT.

Dancers are not as goodlooking as last year, and much less customers as well!
Most customers just come up to ogle the Katoeys strutting their stuff down stairs!
Barfines are 1000 baht before 01.00 and 600 baht after that!
Best views are actually from the Happy Nights Bar on the opposite side, from there you can view both the katoeys and the pirate ladies!

Considering this is 2010 and not 1985 it's an ok bar to watch the goings on in Soi croc.
But then agian, so is Shipwreck & Happy Night bar opposite. If you can get a ringside seat for the action down below it's a good place to have a quick drink, then find your bearings, and move on.

My view!

When I have been in there and managed to get one of those chairs (Normally all occupied) that over-look Soi Croc I sit up there and suss out the 'talent' on Soi Croc. Normally buying a girl or LB a drink from up there with the old 'lick thumb press on bar' I owe you one when I get there sign.

Unfortunately, without actually hanging right over the edge and spilling my drink I can't see what is happening in the bars directly under me.

Not been in for a while but that time was OK, service OK, drinks drinkable! Think my tab for a couple of drinks was 150B....I can live with that on Bangla.

Girls were OK! - Not dressed as Pirates mind! Which would be a good move considering the name of the fookin' bar!

Whaddaya want out of a bar??? 55555555 I don't know! Not sure they've invented the bar some blokes imagine every bar should look like in their head!

Maybe Carlsberg have!

Just another girly bar to me. If there's nothing for me there, I move on! With the turn over of girls in most of the bars, you could go again the following night and the 2nd string/team is in!

I had a drink or 2 in there couple of weeks ago. It's not an unpleasant place to have a drink to start the night. Considering the lack of punters the girls do dance in quite an enthusiastic fashion....

Trouble is, it is quite a large bar, so lacks any atmosphere and there is little interaction with the girls. IMO, it could be a really decent venue with a tweek or two. Needs a naughty boys corner for starters.................:wink2:

Went in there a few weeks ago, barfine 1000thb bedfore midnight, then 600baht after midnight. A friend (cough) told me 2000baht long time for the best looker in there, lovely girl, does not speak much english but now she "go school study english" bless her. One night she said "ok no pay tonight" but I didn't have the heart to take advaneforum.xxxe of her in that way. She made my holiday memorable, emails and a weekly phone call to her to make sure she ok. No sick buffalo, no sick mama/papa, no kids. Probably one reason why so many of us go back. If anyone is visiting and wants to know her number send me a pm. For the next two weeks she will probably only go short time coz "she go school"

Also the girl downstair on ZBangla Road, her name is Nui, beautiful smile, great personality, but has boyfriend, buy her a drink and watch her ewaction, Priceless.

Why not just go there instead of turning up with other peoples perceptions. Each bar does or doesn't appeal to everyone. Worst case YOU don't like it, best case YOU do. Be a man and decide for yourself 5555555555555555555

Its a pretty good bar for checking out soi crocodile. It is a bit austere as a bar with the bar itself right down the end so there seems to be little interaction with oither punters. I like the bar on the opposite side better (happy night) because it feels a bit friendlier and i always seem to get more conversation from all sorts of people there. Each to their own though i got a girl from Pirates Arn here name was.. Lovely and i saw her again when i went back 4 months later. Must be true love.

Was there last night unfortunately not like it was last year. Fewer girls Android they looked bored. Shame coz it was my fav. Happy night bar also down on talent. Might pick up toward valentines day I hope.
