I understand that there must be a instruction sheet or set of rules on how much you must pay for the LBFM. It is the same one that is used for the Tuk Tuk's, souveneir sellers, real estate floggers, meal providers, hotel room suppliers and so on. I keep on saying it. In my opinion it is not extravagance. It is a trifling sum of money. You keep forgetting one thing. Money, like your health, transports with you no matter where you are in the world. So lets say your personal daily budget for "enjoy life money" is $ 500 USD for your lifestyle. ( I travel quite a bit most of the year so I dont have a "home budget" and a "holiday budget" I just have a "enjoy life budget" whereever I am) Then you are gonna spend it how you please on what you please. That is called life and living...

Have you ever considered that your extravagance in the eyes of the general thai population and in particular the lower socio economic segment has completely stuffed up a whole segment of Thai society to a degree where fathers and mothers send their young daughters off to be prostitutes with sex tourists?

Come on. The "your buggering it up for the rest of us" arguement is just so lame. Perhaps one could argue that the rate for LT should be raised to 10000 baht minumum and so the number of trailer trash monger visitors to Phuket will drop and the place will be cleaned up and be more up market.

I look at what I pay for things like this. Where I come from the average wage is around $47 000 US per annum. Now through the grace of God and luck and 26 years of hard work and toil I am in the fotunate position where I probably earn about 15 times that a year on average, which in the overall scheme of things still isnt a lot. And I lose about of 1/3rd of it on tax. ( dont mind that as I like to contribute to the community I live in).

Now is it my fault that to me 4000 baht is really a trifling sum of money to pay someone of the female of the species at least 1/2 my age so I can have my carnal desires with her? Bloody hell in Moscow 3 weeks ago I was paying $900 - 1500 USD LT and dont get me started on what I have to pay in Roppongi in Tokyo for the good BG's that i like. :love3:

4000 baht; you must be joking ! I goddam love it ! And when 99 times out of a 100 I can have it for even cheaper it really is Nirvana. In that same Mustang Bar with the 1000 baht bar fine one of the top shelf dancers when asked what it would cost for her LT company sized me up and said 2000. I nearly pissed myself laughing at her low opening bid and of course counter offered with 1000 just for some sport. We settled on 1500 with a promise of a "tip" if her performance was good, retired to the passion pit and got stuck into it. Next afternoon as she had the "goodbye shower" I slipped 4000 into her handbag cause she was probably worth twice that. Do I care that someone else gets to ride the same LBFM for a 1/2 or a 1/4 of the cost. Nup. I dont give a toss what anyone else does as long as I can enjoy my life and that I certainly do.

Low season the prices will tend towards the low end, high season the prices could be over the high range.


I think that varies too much from one lady to another and that depends where the hotel is etc.

2 weeks ago in Pootong I was hit up for bar fine of 1000bht at Mustang Bar in Tiger complex, first time ever for me in Patong. I paid it cause I really dont give a toss about whether I give someone $15 or 25 USD when i want something. It really is small change (well to me anyway) in the overall scheme of things. Also paid bar fines of 200 and 300 in off bangla locations. As for rates for LT 1500 - 4000 was my range and was very happy to pay them too cause once again it is very small change.

Hagler, we have the same opinion. There are places in BKK and Pattaya where the BF is 1000. Those are normally for showgirls, and if you find that to expensive, there are cheaper options in the same bars. But I find it normal that an owner who pays a better salary for someone giving a sexy show and bringing in extra clients that way wants to protect his income and put the BF higher for those girls.
Personally, I nearly never invite a girl from a beer bar. But I sometimes invite one from a gogo, and if I have to pay more, OK, that is my decission and those are the rules. Take it or leave it.



Dodger, there are places in Thailand where 5000 is not ludicrous. Maybe not in Patong but try Bangkok. Try Soi Thanya, RCA, Ekamai... and perhaps Spasso and CM2. And I am sure ther are even places for the "better Thais" where 5000 is even "vulgary" low.

I don't want to offend someone, and if I do I am sorry, but a lot of BM's are angry if somebody uses the words "w***s" or "pr**tes" for bargirls. But at the same time they find it normal to extract the bottom price for what is provided and consider them s*xslaves. 1000 Baht for the moment is not even 20 Euros. Sorry again if I have offended somebody.
