Wow... seems like this one guy has a simple solution: just close everyone in York region including Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Aurora! Pretty ambitious agenda to make all sex work "a thing of the past"!

At an Oct. 14 meeting, Robert Vallee, with Parents Against Child Trafficking and Council of Women Against Sex Trafficking, called on regional council to make York the first zone in Ontario free from sex trafficking and prostitution through body rub parlours.
Vallee urged municipalities across the region to “exit the business” in the same way Newmarket did.

In June, Newmarket council approved a bylaw requiring workers in massage establishments to have Canadian accreditation.
The town's new bylaw aims to capture the difference between legitimate massage, wellness and spa businesses, and “rub and tug” parlours offering services related to sex.

Vallee praised Newmarket's initiative, saying it will enable the town to shut down body rub parlours and bogus wellness centres.

Vallee said Markham, Vaughan, Richmond Hill and Aurora continue to have a problem with businesses selling sex illegally and should follow Newmarket’s lead.
It's illegal, under Canada’s Criminal Code, to earn money from owning, managing or working for a business knowing sexual services are purchased there, but Vallee said his group’s investigation has found 135 such businesses in York region “operating in broad daylight.”

He called on council to request changes from the Attorney General and Solicitor General to make “strip clubs, bogus massage parlours and escort agencies a thing of the past.”

Robert Vallee is the chair of PACT(parents against child trafficking). He knows sex trafficking didn't happen at Asian massage parlors. He is just another politician trying to buy votes, pretty much like Scarborough Agincourt councillor Jim Karygiannis.

Here is some of his reports and what he got from YRP in charge of sex trafficking in York region.

1. April 2017: Detective Thai Truong of Sex-Trafficking ‘Project Raphael’ fame with 104 men charged is in the spotlight. When questioned at YRP’s press conference, he admitted “our police agency is NOT interested in investigating prostitution unless it involves children under 18 or human trafficking.”

7. Next in 2021 is Sex-Trafficking Detective #2, Jason Dearing. Dearing was a co-presenter at the Town’s Public Information webinar conducted by staff. Dearing presented YRP’s Massage Parlour Initiative in 2018 in which: a) the officers identified 15 sex trade workers. b) their average age was 40 years old, (Ah yes, Asian sex migrants), and c) no juveniles were located. There was NO MENTION of the # of charges laid on the BRP operators. Why? Because none were laid by YRP. When Dearing was asked why the data for BRPs was so low, he replied: “The majority of the exploitation that is taking place is OUTSIDE massage parlours, not to say that there is not exploitation or criminal activity within them, but the majority of our focus is outside of massage parlours and more in hotels and that area of the community.”

York region has shut down in the past after the raids on EBC. I wont be surprised if it becomes a no hobby zone again.

Im sure all the guys with vested interests will say it can never happen but history will eventually repeat itself.
