LE on Brownsline and Queensway

I know that a lot of you who go to SRM know that the LE will drive by and take down your license plate number. LE likes to monitor this place and possibly deter customers.

Well, not too long at Josephine's on the Brownsline we started to see increased LE activity almost to the point of every week they would be stopping by. I had heard reports that they were monitoring cars parked outside and nearby and were taking down license plate numbers as well. This is now confirmed from a reliable source.

I heard a rumour that they were doing the same on the Queensway mainly from Elite Retreat to Coral Studios. I followed up on the rumour and found it to be true. For Elite they are mainly stationed across the street near the Tim Hortons with another member pounding the pavement on the other side. Around Coral they are looking at the cars that park on the street just in front and along the side street. The LE are positioned in a similar manner across the street with a foot patrol on that side.

They are usually looking for a single male driver and follow where he parks and then where he walks to. If they see him entering an MP, they wait a few minutes and then take down the make and model of his vehicle along with the license plate number.

They are both in marked and unmarked vehicles.

I could care less if a cop takes my plates down. But I am curious about it.

How about taking a cab there, and then they can take the cab's license plate number down.

Or, there's always "The Better Way".

I wonder what their response would be if you stood out in front of their car and started writing their license plate number down. Or how about video taping them just in case you think they might be "dirty cops".

Why would they care to take down licence plates? There is no reason. They are just there to be visual deterrents.

I think that unmarked cars would not be a deterrant.

I believe that the LE is doing research.

To reveal more would probably be in their favour, by releasing this they know that we are watching as well.

In regards to Boomer_THC comments "Confirmed my Ass" ... I spent some time at both areas and saw it with my own eyes. You don't really think I would trust heresay would you ?

Here is a very freaky incident I noticed. One night I stopped into Josephine's as she was getting a ticket for something this was month ago. Anyways one of the guys with Bylaw I have seen in other establishments waiting to get a massage.

Now the question next is is he Bylaw, a cop or an informant? Are they taking our plate numbers to try to get us to rat out the ladies by coming to our homes at a later date?

Just my thoughts after seeing the reviews on taking down license plate numbers. It seems to me there is very little that they can do with a plate number of the car. I think it is just intimidation of the people entering the spa and the people working inside. People can become pretty parnoid about things like that and the LE know it. This may be designed to put pressure on the spa and the clients, period. A simple exerise in intimidation. My feeling is they must have too much time on their hands to be reduced to this kind of behaviour, instead of providing a real service to the community. Each year they plead for more and more money, saying they are understaffed and need more police on the street. And look how they spend their time! Empire building at it's finest.

This seems to be a common occurance now at many MP's. I've seen it
with my own eyes too. All the way from Miss-Pickering, my friends
working in the industry have told me like wise.

I also had an MPA friend of mine who did allow her papers to lapse
at one point, and was pulled over immediately after work, when
staff had seen LE take down plate numbers earlier.

I have seen customers pulled over after a massage for no reason and
for suspected intoxication. I know of mpa's being pulled over for no
reason as well and being questioned. "Where did you come from tonight?" etc...Meanwhile they were parked across the street or lot
several times during the night and they know were they came from.

As MP's are unfortunately visited by a criminal element often, I am
also personally aware of them visiting and marking plates to gather
information about other more serious crimes a client may have
done that has nothing to do with massage. An mpa friend of mine
was questioned by police about a client she massaged and the next day
they arrived to speak with that mpa about his conversations with her.
He was suspect in a very serious criminal matter. They had been tailing him since the crime.

Sometimes I notice in newspaper articles about victims or suspects
of crime who are said to "have a criminal record" and at other times
it says they are "known to police". I often wonder if this marking
of plates at MP's or any other so called "illicit" establishment or area, for example "known drug areas" could be determined as "known to police" to help aid police in solving crimes. Sort of like background
information on people. This is of course just my theory on "known to
police" and may or may not be the case. Just speculation. I could be
totally wrong but I thought it made sense to me.

Yes, it is true that sometimes they do pull you over after you stepped out of an MP. The LE have been watching you and they know exactly were you came from, they are just playing the intimidation factor. What concerns me is when they don't pull you over and store you in a database.

Yes, MPA are questioned about clients that have visited due to their unsavoury nature. They probably also question ones without a criminal record.

There is another point to think about. If LE is conducting this "research" then they are probably doing something of a demographic study. That is, why is someone from the east end visiting here and such. Most members do not hobby close to home and choose a MP where it is least likely that they will not be noticed.

Of course saying more of LE activity only leads them to read what we have said here, maybe even one of them will post in this thread, it is a possibility.

I forgot to mention this when I seen it on TV about 1 month ago.
It was regarding the Markham murders, remember the 3 asians?
The police and the reporter were talking about MP places in Markham and MP in general, about how Markham was a ghost town right now due
to these murders and about the whole business in general. They mentiond massageplanet.net and actually showed threads on the screen and said
how "johns" write and review about these places and the women who
work there. Appearance, service and MP experience etc...

I forgot about it until this thread reminded me but I do not recall
which station, time of day etc.. I just remember listening intently...
or trying to ...without looking to obvious. There were people around
me at the time.

Okay, let’s not get all paranoid about LE taking down license plates. It may be just a check. LE does it all the time. Remember some of these places in the past have had a criminal element associated with them. It's probably just a quick check to see if anything comes up. So what if they take down my plates? If I'm doing something illegal, arrest me. If I'm in an illegal place, shut it down.

Also remember the two most offend used methods LE will use if you do get pulled over is intimidation and your ignorance. Don't let them intimidate you, and know your rights.

A very good point.

If you are ever pulled over the first thing to ask is what you are being charged with ? In essence any other questions that they ask are not relevant and you really don't have to answer them.

I doubt that they will pull you over. In my watch period I didn't really see anyone being pulled over. Of course who is to say that they did not pull them over further down.

I think that by this thread that they know that we know, I am not sure what type of action they may take. If I find out I will post it.

When the cops run your plate on their mws (Mobile work station laptop), a bunch of shit comes up. Including who the vehicle is registered to, that person's license number, and if the cop now wants, they can run that person's license as well. It's actualy quite a nice easy conveinent way to nab people if they're wanted for something else as well. When your plate is ran, it's automaticly cross referenced with any previous times it was ran by metro, yrp, prp, opp, etc.

If the cops are so inclined, they can also run the person's name through the cpic database, which will bring up any criminal record. And if ya have any tickets for impaired or such, expect to get stopped later. The cops basicly like to keep tabs on such. You must remember, cops aren't always busy, most crusie and keep an eye on things in their patrol area, unless they're dispatched to a radio call, or such.

The fact that a lot of spas are getting held up at night is also a justifieable excuse for LE to be hanging around. And also, if they can find out the owner of the spa, they're more interested in that and if any other illeagal element may somehow be connected to the spa. Mafia, etc.

However one very bad things LE can do with your plate, though it is highly questionable is as follows. If a vehicle is found in a suspicious place, has a punched ignition, was involved in a robbery, etc, LE will often contact the registered owner of the vehicle if they weren't the drivers, to see if they know where their vehicle is.

Now if your vehicle is registered to your SO, or the same address as them, LE may phone your residence or SO to ask them if they know where their vehicle is. A cop can easily give a good excuse as to why they're asking this, such as there was a b&e, robbery, or other illegal activity in the area.

But to the best of my knowledge, besides YRP threathening to do this one night to blackmail some people into cooperating with them, it's never been done.

Cops are like the rest of us, they range from very good, li9ke the one who let me off with running a red light right in front of him, to very bad. And unfortuanately, having the powers cops do, and the intelligence to make the most of it, the few bad cops can get away with a lot of shit.

People's suspicions always look for the personal indictment and it's usually just not there. My theory LE is enacting a plan derived at Division ##, or higher, to profile MP's for all sorts of reasons. Pure speculation (in general, not just LE at B&Q), but here goes:

1. Volume of traffic. If neighbourhood complaints are/have been received they have data to analyze. Complaints could be as simple as parking issues.

2. Background investigation. Should raid occur additional evidence may result in additional charges, plus it shows due diligence in court.

3. Type of traffic. May give clues to activities: certain behaviours may indicate illegal immigrants 'living' at or vicinity of MPA.

4. Actual investigation. Maybe they have reason to investigate MP, MPA, or 'others' are using on purpose or covertly the MP for investigatable activities.

5. Reverse the story, maybe MP and/or MPA is victim and LE are investigating on behalf of them. Maybe the MP's neighbour's are being watched.
