L H Spa at1699a Bayview - Quick Review

Have been here several times in the last few years to this spot; a quiet, second floor space on Bayview (East side) near Eglinton.

It is easy to miss amidst the small shops and storefronts in that area, even though the spa has some prominent signage.

Some faces have come and gone in terms of providers, but the steady rock that keeps this place going is Sophie.

Sophie is tall for a Chinese woman - nearly 5 feet 10 inches, and likely in her mid 50s.

She is heavyset, too - but still has a kind of powerful, athletic presence, as if maybe she is was a competitive swimmer a long time ago.

You can see it in her back and arms and legs (and feel it in her reliably strong massage).

If so, she must have been quite a remarkable physical specimen in her youth.

I've searched for a younger version of her, but no success so far.

She clearly has a fan base, however, as the spa persists.

I have found Sophie, who started off fairly reserved, to have a humorous and playful side that comes out after she gets to know you.

Some days, she is joined by Jenny, also known as Vicky from Superior.

I have partaken of their four handed option a couple of times and they are are excellent team, with Sophie's relatively harder massage complementing Vicky's more sensual, gentle touch.

Mileage here is within normal semi-legit limits, but of course that mileage may vary.

A steady, reliable option to consider within your rotation, if older, bigger and stronger is not a deal breaker for you.

Your review is 100% on the mark. I see Sophie with some regularity. She gives a great massage, and is very good at massage. I had a sore shoulder and I was having trouble lifting weight. She always askes if you need anything worked on, I mentioned my shoulder and she worked the hell out of it. She went overtime, I'd booked 45 minutes and she worked on me then my shoulder for about an hour and 15. After she finished working on it, the shoulder felt terrible, and I thought "great" now I need to see a doctor. But the next day, it was 100%. She knows what she is doing. But she is busy you may wish to book in advance.

I am pretty sure she's not 5ft 10. Maybe 5' 7. +1 for the acurate review otherwise. Not a looker but great massge. PM awlays offered. Overall very clean and discret spa and pleasant experience. No extras at all fo me but ymmv...

I should carry around a tape measure these aging eyes are not what they used to be!

The spa Happy Shiatsu New Foot Spa, 2587 Yonge, is similar to 1699 Bayview. Great massage limited extra, 40 to 50 year old Asians, attractive average looking women. Great massage, HJ finish if wanted. They have a full massage menu meaning foot massage etc. I really like the own, she likes her work and it shows.​

Yes, plenty of paid street parking in the area.

I want to vouch for @Spartan2020 on Happy Shiatsu New Foot (what a name).
This is a third floor spot on Yonge near Erskine, north of Eglinton.
(Just be careful about using the street parking in the area, as the blue hornets are super-vigilant. As if they are earning an extra commission on each ticket.)

Was at HSNF on a recent Saturday and had a great massage from Lucy, a heavy-set Chinese lady in her early 50s, with long curly hair, about 5 feet 6 inches tall.
She didn't have the face of a supermodel but she'd made an effort with some makeup. She smiled a lot which was nice too.
Lucy's English was very limited, but we made each other understood all the same.
The massage was truly hard - Just relentless pressure all over with her big strong arms, elbows and thumbs, with offer of very gentle, warm, non-jack-hammer fun at end.
$60 for 45 mins.

Again, if you go - watch out for the blue hornets and their parking ticket writing powers, should you park on the street.

Good point regarding the parking, there is paid parking to the south behind the building. Plus, you can park for free for 1 hour on the side streets on the westside of Yonge. I usually park across Yonge on a side street.
I'm glad you had a great massage.

Stupid question - 65 tips + door fee or 65 is a total price? Or was it massage only and HE tip is an extra if you wish?
