Again this is wrong - the Mexican cops will take ALL money you have on you - they will ask you to empty your pockets. I had a mexican cop try to take me to an ATM once to get money to bribe him. My offense? taking a pee in a backalley while trying to get back to border - cost? $400

I see what you mean but I don't really experience this kind of hustle in HK. AB is worst when it comes to the hustle. I've yet to warm up my seat or even sit on it when I have a few meseros already asking me what drink I want.

I been kind of lucky when I've gone inside HK because most of the time meseros are kind of busy or something. Once I'm in all I have to do is get out of their way. They don't even ask me if I want a drink or anything when they pass by me. It sounds weird but those have been most of my experiences. Only when I want to drink is when I have to approach them and sometimes I've had a hard time tracking them down.

My only problem with HK is when I'm working on a deal with a chica and a mesero is ruining it for me by getting involved. But is not that big of a problem if the chica is paying attention to me and not the mesero.

I think that what attracts me the most about HK is that these chicas are more easily accesible. You take out a dollar and you are surprised with what you can do with one buck. In other places you'll be lucky if you grab their hand.

I hear you about them being phony and trying to look like white girls. This has frustrated me a bit but they are hot and treated me well so I guess I can let it slip. Still I do want a real Mexicana so I need to check out the places you wrote down.

I assume they are similar to AB or HK, $60 for half hour? Are they friendly to non-Mexicans? I have gone into Las Chavellas a few times but I can't really seem to connect with the girls there. I enjoy the Mexican cowboys dancing and watching them flirt with one another but have had no luck myself. Plus, I don't dance...

I hate the hustle. I just take a lap around and I feel like the pied piper with 4 or 5 meseros following behind me. If you don't go often that is probably the best place to go. I just got back and I visited La Valentina, Playboy, La Gloria, and Delicias. The chicas are much more real in those bars. I don't need phony chicas trying to look like White girls.

Sampsonrico may I be so bold as to ask why you hate HK? I can't wrap my head around the idea that someone hates HK. I hate AB myself but is not that I hate AB is just that I don't think these chicas deliver. There's something about these chicas I don't like. They are hot and all but I don't know.

I can't pinpoint exactly what I like about HK. All I know is that the first day I stepped inside HK it was love at first sight. Still I think AB and HK help make La Zona great.

For the best service I would recommend staying out of AB...hate HK and CC is not anything like it use to be....I would recommend La Valentina, Tropical, and Delicias for more fun and more "real" chicas. I go to a few others but I roll a little different since I live in TJ.

Come to think of it I don't have much to complain about the chicas I've had. Sure some of the sessions could have been better but even the worst session I've had in TJ has been way better than the worst sessions I've had in the states. Sorry for twisting your original statement.

Anyways I can only think of one bad session with a chica off the top of my head. I say it was bad because I felt like if I was raping her. But even that was kind of fun because it was like fullfilling a rape fantasy. On the other hand my bad sessions in the states have not been bad they been horrible. More like nightmares.

You have to abide by the rules when you are in tj. Stay around chicago, hong kong and adelita area. You are safe. You go elsewhere then you are asking for it. cheap girls and cheap drinks what can you ask for. Dont get me started on the girls up in california. It will cost you a hell a lot more and you wont get GFE experience. I have been served by more than 500. The worst girl in TJ is better than the best girl in the states. No matter how much you pay.

You are right about this. The people who warn you about the dangers haven't been to Mexico/TJ in a while or are people who haven't visited and tell you not to go because of stories they've heard.

I like asking the taxi guys about crime in TJ and things like that. I do it also at the request of my buddies who want to know. I don't know what good it would do at that point if he told us that it was very dangerous and crime was up. Anyways they all pretty much say that it's not as dangerous as they make it out to be.

I think that anyone who has had a bad experience in TJ should give it another shot. Remember you are one good experience away from making TJ your number one mongering destination. If you do have another nightmare then you should call it quits. But everyone makes their own decisions.

It is much different now. First the police was never a problem if you just tell them "no" Second they have fired over 400 corrupt cops and you almost never hear about cops shaking down visitors. Sites like this are to educate folks so they know how to handle situations like this.

For sure I would rather deal with a Mexican cop that would take $10 from me to forget what law I broke as opposed to dealing with a US cop for a speeding ticket. $10 or several hundred.....a no brainer.

I understand you've been living in Tj for over 10 years.. i've been visiting for over 25 years at least 6 times a year... but the last time i came down was over a year ago... and i will never come down there again... not worth the headache... it's not bad enough you have to watch the local hoodrats ripping you off.. you have to watch out for the cops as well... by the time you're done mongering after gas, food, beer, and the local rip off artists you're spending over 300$... i would rather spend the 250 here for a nice apartment setup with drinks for an hour of great time and i'm only 30 minutes away from home as well as being in the united states were we have some laws... best of luck to you all... used to love going down there... but the quality has dropped as well as the headaches have gone up...

The worst part is when article headlines say "bodies found in border state" or "shootout between cartels and Mexican police in border city." Can't they just say the name of the damn state or city in their headline? I would think this hurts Mexico as a tourist destination.

Very true! If someone comes up to you and wants to be your Best Friend / Total Stranger and offers two chicas for two hours for $40, just keep walking and tell him you have to meet your friends at Adelita's or HK or Chicago Club. Luckily, there seem to be fewer of these types of scams going on now.

It is a shame the US press can really sensationalize the violence like that and scare people and businesses from visiting.

If they would just report it truthfully I could live with that, but they want tourists to think they are at risk, etc.
