Personally I think it is Phukets ever on-going wish to be a 'family' type destination. They 'tolerate' the small-ish P4P scene in one town and mainly down one road in that town.

Anyone doing their homework on a 'Mongers' Holiday in Thailand would always head towards Pattaya IMHO.

I've been up there a couple of times and found it to be the K-Mart of P4P and Patong the 7-11, same products, just more of it. If you want an holiday that consists of two weeks of hardcore, in your face girls, loud music, bright lights and similar prices then I'd recommend Patts everytime.

I've several mates who live up there and they are like me, they live about 20 miles out of Pattaya (as I live outside Patong) and invariable only go into the Soi's and WS when newbies arrive and want to dip their..........toes! Etc.

I think I had my fill of 'bade shows' in Berlin and Amsterdam during the 80's 5555 I'll stick to 'One or Two at a time" in the shower at my place....More hygienic. There was that time 'Killer' got into the bath......but that's another story, for another time.

Plus I've never been asked for a 4.5K LT in Patong...............Yet! 555555

I've never been to WS and probably will never go as i don't like the sound of the whole place from what i've read, but BKK i prefer much prefer to BR as its much more professional IME. to successfully get from one end of a soi to the other on BR you need to be on horse back with a joust. as a polite person like me it takes about 20 minutes, too much and OTT. BKK you can go about your business most of the time without hands grabbing you, and the staff have more of a professional attitude as i think most clientele there won't take any crap like the tourists who walk BR, so they don't bother. thats been my limited Exp anyway

but then again a pint of one of the best beers (ale) in the world (samuel smiths casked), is only £1.77 in all central london samual smiths pubs, including the oldest pub in the world (cheshere cheese). so thats £5.31 (300 baht) for 3 pints of the greatest!

IIRC most of the agogo's are in Sea Dragon, however Croc is most certainly famous for another reason. :yes:

I have never tried Pats, however Denver's analogy of the P4P (7/11 vs. K-Mart), makes me think that it is probably worth a visit.

If you like BKK then WS will not be as bad as you think. I think Nana and Cowboy are bigger sleaze pits then WS.

Patts local govt has more tolerance to gogos "showing" than does Patongs's...simple as that

I like 'em all and still do I guess although in smaller doses now and yes, like others have said the 'novelty' tends to tarnish after a while.

A night out in BBK, Patts or Phukets P4P areas usually ends up the same, the hotel room may change but the hangover is still there!

A typical night of bars, beers, mates, ladies, 6 minutes of unbridled passion, say goodbye, snooze, then breakfast, get ready to do it again, is pretty much the same in either of the locations for me. Am I missing something?

It's the fact it's Thailand that matters to me.

That is also amazing about Thailand. Looks like every village their own law. In Phuket, maybe that has changed, I only needed a helmet for the driver of the motorbike. In Pattaya, you need 2. One for the driver and one for the passenger.



I noticed that guys, coming there a lot do go a lot to town, but go more to quieter areas. Pattaya is much more then you describe, it is not all concentrated in one part, like Patong. Another area, is in the north, close to Big c and those massage places. One bar area there is "Drinking street". Cheaper then WS, interesting if you don't want to pay the hudge Bf in the gogo and just pay 1000 bht for the lady.
