I normally stay ot at Kata Beach, I was there over New Year and met Nicke for a 10 min chat, but am thinking of coming out for a longer stay, say 3 months, this April.

Would you recomend the C&N for that duration and price .. or are there other hotels that offer a good rate and better facilities for a long stay .. like have a good pool, maybe quieter location etc .. oh .. and are guest friendly too?

If I were lucky enough to have a 3month stay starting in April, I would by all means book say one week at C&N and have a look around whilst you are there.Its always easier to bargain the price face to face,and end of April the hotel prices drop to low season. Use both the accommodation section here,and Nicke when you get to Patong,to get more ideas.
If you see something you fancy,ask here about it and more than likely one of the BMs will know about it.

If you are going to stay for a long time, Then you would be better off finding an apartment, And it will cost you half the money of what you would have to fork out to a hotel.IMHO

Many houses for rent (personnaly I rent in Nai Harn with swimmingpool, 2 bedrooms, aircon, etc...) for a really better price than on the website, so don't be afraid to speak about it. Quick answer from Wellta, she does a very good job and is very friendly

PS : as you rent bungalow, appartment or house, you are at home, so never mind about "guest friendly" I will not pay more than in a 3* hotel (1200 bath/day) but I will have a full furnished house with shared swimming pool, cleaned everyday .... in a quiet place in the South of Phuket (sme of us like, some does not)

Just booked the Patong Villa for 10 days in May. They dropped their rates from 1700bht, a night to 1500bht and also included all taxes, breakfast and joiner fee.

I just got back to Australia today from 6 nights staying at Baan Sukhothai hotel opposite Tiger disco, I got one of the two top suites(massive) for 6000 per night they are nomaly over 10,000 but they said the price will go back up in Feb, By the way best trip to Phuket still loads of girls and not many farang.
But weird walking along beach road at night i was there 8 weeks ago.

Just back from BKK after spending a week there n playin almost every day on those 3 tables.
A tip for BMS who play there is to shoot soft. They have modified the table's pockets to frustrate players..ie: its a bit deeper then last time. So if u come into the pocket from the side, you have to be real spot on or you will bounce right out.
Another good news is that new/additional cues are now available.
Morning/night bar is one great place to play pool and mingle with the Bgs.
