IN MY time in los i have been fortunate to see BON JOVI, DEF LEPPARD, METALICA AND LINKIN PARK

ALSO SEEN phil collins rod stewart

usually these concerts are in the national stadium in bangkok but sometimes have big acts in the queen sirikit centre

I guess because I hear so much Techno in LOS I wonder if that's primarily what the Thai youth listen to or is there a healthy perceneforum.xxxe that enjoy the Linkin Park or Velvet Revolver/Audioslave type bands.I usually assume that the "Classic 70's and 80's rock I hear is being played for the benefit of farang tourists.

The modern Thai music that I heard(limited as it was) seemed to have a "Folk music"feel to it.I'm probably generalizing but the girls in the bars seemed to go nuts over Thai "sing along" type songs played in between western Pop songs.Kinder, gentler music.I can see where Alicia Keyes would be a big hit(not folk but smooth soul music)

Is it true that the Eagles ,as a western band, are very popular with the Thai?I heard a lot of Eagles in LOS,but was it for the tourist benefit?Or was this rumour started by a backpacker playing Hotel California.(is it really that overplayed?)

FOR some reason the vast majority of concerts by major western rock acts in los seem to take place in March and april. When i was in kho samui march 2004 we were on an afternoon session in chaewang and i had a guns and roses t-shirt on the owner of the bar we werre in says you were unlucky slash was in the reggae bar last night, and then imediately he said oh in fact there he is over there, and sure as hell he was sitting with a farang girl in a bar oposite it took me 30 minutes to get the nerve to go and speak to him in case he told me to f uck off, but he was such a great guy who happily posed for a photo and chatted with me for 20 minutes when i left in case i overstayed my welcome

Hi everybody.... YES it is a tribute band that is playing at Rockcity when they will open up in 5 november. But it is not a Thai- or Philipineband. The band is from Sweden and its original name is actually HAZY/DIZZY. You are welcome to check their website www.hazydizzy.com to find out more about the band. But dont you hesitate to go to ROCKCITY in november to check the band out. Because it is gonna be a shit load of fun and a great Rock'n roll party, WE PROMISE YOU!!!!!

Speaking of rock bands, check out this pic of Weezer's lead guitarist taken last Saturday night at the last date on the Foozer Tour(Foo Fighters and Weezer) at the Oakland Arena in Oakland, CA.

Now take a close look at what is written on his guitar in Thai!!

Maybe they would like to play in LOS.They are touring Japan in December!!
