significance of 5am wake up feeling sick every day

A friend of mine said that she wakes up at 5am everyday and she feels sick.. i was thinking the TCM LUNG meridian 3am-5am... is deficient.
Can anyone give me any info, i have been look all over the internet and cant get her the information.
From what I have been reading... she suffers from the same ailments as what I haveread..
she has pollups on her vocal cords, and suffers from colds and congestion on a regular basis

I suffer from an allergy to dust mites. These symptoms sound exactly like what happens to me! Especially in the fall and winter when I have to start sleeping with the windows closed.

What helps me is to have an allergy reducing mattress/pillow cover, change linens 2x per week, and I try to sleep with the window open a crack whenever I can stand it. Frequent dusting and vacuuming(sp?) help too.

I agree that it sounds a lot like allergies.

Especially this time of year, I use Flonase, otherwise get the post nasal drip and congestion a couple times a year. It has even led to a couple boughts of bad Larygitis for me.

There are allergy reducing pillow covers and mattress pad's that she could try also.

I would suggest putting the pillows through a dryer cycle to kill off anything lurking in them.

We recently started doing this for another reason, and it has helped reduce the morning stuffiness from allergies.

no she is not pregnant.
I learned both medical and chinese medical massage. I feel that medical is my specialty, but there is much to be said about the tracks of the meridians for example:
LUNG: (Yin) Control Point = Co 11. Co 11 is in the middle of both arm bones at the elbow on the outside of the forearm just up from Co 10. Rub the Lung meridian from Lu 1 to Lu 11. Lu 1 is 3/4 way along collar bone to the outside and one cun directly down. Lu 2 is on the collar bone. Then down outside of biceps along outside of forearm inside to inside of tip of thumb.

the body is a chart, and accupucture/pressure AND massage is based on this theory...
Just a thought, allergies- no, I think her lung meridian is deficient and that is why she is getting sick with respiratory illnesses.

Lung and Large Intestine Meridian/Metal Energy

When you say "she feels sick" are we talking abdominal pain, nausea, cramping or respiritory problems? 5:00 and 6:00 am is when Metal's spiritual energy is thought to be most abundent and powerful. I am thinking an excess of Metal? Is she dealing with a moral issue, something that is either right or wrong? Is her creativity on the down side? Has she become more controlling, less flexible in her decision making? Is she suffering from lack of self esteem? I am really feeling she has a decision to make, a chapter to close in her life. It's time to clean house, get organized and make lists. She needs to focus on the task at hand an hour at a time, take a break, have a hot bath, some hot tea and relax. Just a guess?? I am also thinking Fire meridian has been insulted (heart)
On the medical side: Has she been consuming to many carbs (bad carbs) or dairy, such as ice cream or milk before bed? Check out her eating habits. Watch her sugar intake. Is she trying to find sweetness or comfort from her food? Relationship issue?
