Is anyone familiar with the work of Dr. Eric Pearl: The Reconnection ? The website is:

It resonated so well with me that I am looking into possibly traveling up to the States for a class with him in person within the next 6 months.
The video is well worth the time. He's an excellent speaker and soooooo funny! I am very picky in the humor department and I was laughing out loud several times during the viewing.

Any thoughts?

If you search "reconnection" on MassagePlanetL you'll find a couple of threads that mention it. I think melb in Australia might be the only person who's commented as a practitioner.

The interview resonated with me too. Have you read his book? His perspective is interesting and jives with some things I've been thinking. I haven't read his book, but I'd be interested in ordering it before I jump into more energywork courses since I don't get many clients for that type of service.

I was laughing at the "throwing energy into salt water" bit, I took a pranic healing course and that is exactly what we were taught!

I found the videos of his interviews very entertaining. His book arrives in less than a week, but I am not as excited about it as I was a few days ago. Dr. Eric Pearl of the Reconnection makes statements, presenting them as fact, that seem to be made up, certainly not provable. I don't get a good sense of the results he is getting. There are a couple of other little things that are starting to bother me about his work. While other forms of energy work are "just energy", Reconnective Therapy "goes beyond energy to include light and information". Okay... who says? Plus, in order to really get it, you not only have to take the seminar, but you have to have a "Reconnection" for an additional fee of $333. It's starting to feel like a money thing.

In reading the reviews of Dr. Pearl's book on Amazon, I was led to the work of Dr. Richard Bartlett. He is not quite as entertaining, although still humorous, but the results he and his practitioners get are extraordinary! I like the fact that he freely admits he doesn't know a lot of the "why" behind what he does. His work is Matrix Energetics. I have since spent a LONG time on his website and message board and am considering the seminar in Phoenix in April.

I think both modalities are worth exploring, especially in a way that doesn't cost anything (internet) or much (books). When it comes to choosing a class, however, I want the most bang for my buck, and right now that means working with something that gets results. I have been an energyworker for 12 years and I'm ready to move to a new level.

The Reconnection

Hi! I read the book a number of years ago, found it very interesting and recommended it to others. Fast forward to two years ago when I got to see him in person. Very interesting...but not in ways I expected. It was a strange, very odd experience for me, and as I found out just as I was leaving, for another also. I mentioned this to my massage instructor and she received quite a bit of feedback on the seminar from a number of people.

After the seminar, I went and checked his website. A number of links were broken, and basically, it appeared to me, that the site was geared towards marketing a marketing plan. He is very humorous and the continuing seminars are reasonable priced, many in the audience were making plans to continue. I, however, no longer recommend this book, or work.

Did you end up taking the seminar? What were your impressions? I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts.

Ollie, I'm not sure whether you are referring to Dr. Pearl's seminar or Dr. Bartlett's. Here's what I ended up doing:

In February 2008 I called to sign up for a specific seminar with Dr. Pearl in May, I believe. It was full and I was #11 on the wait list. Class size for that seminar was limited to 90 people. That meant that over 10% of the registrants had to cancel to open up a spot for me. It seemed unlikely that I would get in.

As I spent more time researching Matrix Energetics I finally decided to go to one of their seminars in April and signed up right away, also purchased my plane ticket and arranged to share a hotel room.

A week later I cleared the wait list for The Reconnection seminar and declined.

I attended the Matrix Energetics seminar in April. I have more on that in another post on this board.

Please post more on which seminar you went to, and what your thoughts were and are. What kind of feedback did your massage instructor get? Why do you no longer recommend him, it is just because you feel it's a marketing scheme? How was the experience odd?

The seminar

I was referring to Dr. Pearl's seminar, sorry I didn't make that clear.

What I can tell you is he did a 'raise your hand' for energy workers. As modalities were announced, those hands went down. Until there were only a couple, myself included, whose modality hadn't been announced. I'll give you a quick background, as it's a bit ironic. I've been doing energy work since I was a teenager, from before I knew there was a name for it, and I kept it pretty much underground, just doing my 'thing' as opportunity provided. Thirty something years later I read The Reconnection, identified in many ways, so when I saw a course on Integrated Energy, I signed up, all the time thinking it was the integrated energy that was spoken of in E.P.'s book. It was not, it was healing with the angels, a format far and wide from his work. Years later still, when I saw that Dr. Pearl would be appearing locally, I was still interested and jumped at the opportunity, and that's the mini sequence, odd, ironic, serendipitous....with a edge.

At the seminar, he asked me what kind of energy I did and I said integrated and naturally acquired. What a hot seat he put me on! 'Which is it? Natural or attuned?' A few more questions and I wanted to fade, I was mighty uncomfortable and the night was just beginning.

During his talk, many references were made to other types of energy work, said with humor, but essentially deprecating. 'You don't need sacred symbols' Snap! The list goes on, accompanied by laughter....quite a show. My instructor heard from some master reiki workers who were quite.....not just insulted, but dismayed at the dismissal of anything else besides this 'new' vibe being offered. A couple left during the seminar, with a bad taste for it all. But, mMany folks around me were chatting about the next seminar they would travel to, it appeared to have gone well for a good portion of the audience. The ones I spoke to were new to energy. In fairness, I do have to state this.

This is the nutty part. I stayed the whole time, still curious, still intrigued by the experience if not the message. Just as I was about to leave, I said to the fellow next to me: This is going to sound strange, but I distinctly saw five different people on that seforum.xxxe tonight. And he said, pointing to the end of the aisle in front of us.......Someone over there just said the same thing.

I never found who it was, folks were leaving, or going to the book and course signing at the back of the room. But that's what I saw. I can only describe those different people I 'saw' in very stereotypical terms because, well, that's what they were. Personas. They covered various cultures and lifestyles. I never saw the person on the book jacket.

This is only one of my first posts......a bit nervous about this disclosure. But I hope that whatever this was, and however it resonates with someone, that ultimately it will be helpful in some way. I still don't get it, don't understand what or why I saw what I did, but I just feel a 'keep away' like when you touch a part of body that doesn't want to release just yet, or carries old stuff, like that. If anyone has any insight as to what that was about, I'd sure like to hear it.

So, that's my story, now I'm off to find yours on the Matrix event. I was just chuckling on how serendipity worked out for you on not attending the reconnection seminar, and how, looking back, I had the message too, but would I listen? Nooooooooooooo

Hi Ollie,
I have recently begun doing Matrix Energetics training and I love it. It feels clean and authentic. Years ago I read Dr. Pearl's book. I received the series of Reconnection sessions, and had the creepy experience of being much more vulnerable to stuff in the astral plane. Weirdness like little bitty human-like beings trying to get in my hotel bed with me. Really odd. Aside from that experience, I don't recall being lastingly affected. There was just always an odd quality around it to me.
Interesting that you had the sense of 5 people on seforum.xxxe. Makes me wonder if he has several "parts" or "personalities" that come out. That might explain some of what I experience with his work.

I am SO glad to be doing M.E. now.
I look forward to hearing more from you, thanks for sharing, it was helpful to me. I have not yet been comfortable talking about the reconnective healing with those who do it.

It's interesting. The first video clip I saw of Dr. Pearl I thought was really great. That one somehow got removed from Youtube and all the others I watched since had a very different quality to them.

I noticed that he is coming to Mexico City in a few months and had considered (briefly) attending. I think I'll just watch from a distance now.

I have to run out now but wanted to post this before I left. Thanks again for your input.

Okay, I have a little more time now to respond, plus I've had some time to think about it.

I find it really interesting that the seminar you went to with Dr. Pearl was all about angelic healing. If I am remembering correctly, the first video clip that I watched, that I really liked (at the time), that is now "missing", dismissed using any assistance. Just like dispensing with symbols, he dismissed asking for any type of assistance. Again, if I'm remembering correctly, his reasoning was that by asking for assistance you are saying you are "not enough" by yourself, when everyone in fact is enough.

I went so far as to set aside my own silent litany that I go through prior to any massage, in which I invite ALL sorts of divine help, and just used his suggestion of giving thanks. It didn't feel right and I reverted back to my own style after a few days.

As far as putting you on the spot at the seminar, that's just unacceptable. It does however coincide energetically with what I saw on the subsequent video clips. Not that he did that to anyone else, it was just that he seemed a very different person, not as likable, more condescending. Granted, he has run through his story a million times and it has to be difficult to keep it fresh, but there is definite qualitative difference between that first video clip and the others I have watched.

I think it's fascinating that you saw five personas on seforum.xxxe. I thank you for sticking it out so that you could communicate this to others. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing that the author of the book never seemed to appear. Perhaps those responsible to his Reconnection are working through him. However, given the cost of the seminar, I would have liked to get what I paid for, had I attended.

There are many more video clips on YouTube of Dr. Pearl, so I'll probably spend some time watching those, just to sense where he's at. These things do evolve and some take on a life of their own. It will be interesting to see where it goes.

I've actually met Dr. Pearl's sister, a few years ago now.
It is my understanding that she was very involved, in the beginning, and that he took credit for a great deal of her
work.

As such, it doesn't surprise me that many issues are being discussed regarding "his" work & his attitudes. As to feeling as though there are other energies working through him? That can happen, sometimes it's good, & sometimes not. Mostly I've found it to be less than positive, as those who are perhaps not coming to a position of power & authority on any level (as a teacher or person with aspirations) with a great deal of integrity, seem to be in it for their own sense of self-gratification & money.
