Hello all in the enegy forum. I think that this is my first post since this area was added.The school that I attended was energy based. I was in the therapeutic program, but I did always feel a "connection" with the energy students. I received several Polarity practice sessions while in school and had some different reactions from each. Usually I would find some intestinal dicomfort for the following few days and have very colorful dreams. I don't usually dream in color, so this was always a very noticable reaction to the Polarity session for me.I'm currently a LMT and have volunteered myself to a friend who is now attending the same school. She's in the Polarity module right now and has not learned any massage yet so I'm only recieving Polarity practice from her. With each practice session I've felt that is getting better. But, I'm wondering if there is anything I could say to encourage her more since I don't have any specific knowlede of hand placement and what not. I always tell her how it effects me that night and the following days. In fact I've been having some dreams where I want to scream but can't get the words to come out and I wake with a soar throat. I know that this is a throat chakra issue and she's trying to work on it for me. I can't think of anything in my life contributing to this blockage, but I am trying to stay aware of the issue at least.During my last session with her I had this "vision" of a small blonde boy and the thought that came to me was "the five year mother". Now, I'm not blonde and have no children. I can't imagine that this thought and vision have to do with me directly. Could it be something that she is giving off?Very curious about all things energy related and look forward to any insight.

What I've noticed in sessions is that the messages are often for both the practitioner and therapist and don't always make sense. I had a client recently who started speaking with a Native American guide. I'm not sure who's guide it was, neither is she. But he had a message for both of us.Vivid dreams are common after sessions.The throat issues. Not sure what that is about. Ask questions. Not necessarily to anyone but just in general. "Where in my life do I want to express myself and feel I can't?" "what do I want to say?" "Does this remind me of another time in my life?" etc

Just to clear up the throat Chakra issues. Does it mostly have to do with things unsaid and not expressing ones true self? If I remember correctly that's the general gist of it, but I know that it has to be much more complex. Are there specific organs, glands or ailments associated with it as well?Sadie; you mentioned not expressing myself somewhere in my life. Could that be creativly, like thru artwork as well?

Graci,The throat chakra is about self expression, not just vocal expression but also artistic expression. It would also relate to the air element. Air is about movement, diversity, expansion. If something in your life is stopping you from those things, it could show up in your throat area.More than anything I hear your question about creativity and artwork.Sadie

Sadie,Okay, yes I do have a creative side. And yes, I don't really do as much with it as I would like to. Most of the things I do some would say are "crafty". And true, my work would fit in very well at most craft shows. And that may be where my issue is. I always feel like the atrist inside wants more than just this "crafty creation" it wants a master peice!! ;DPeople will say to me "you're so creative" and my responce is generally "thank you, but it's really more of an affliction". I have this overwhelming need to create. I feel very satisfied when I'm at my most ceative. Then the question is what to do with this stuff that's piling up. I move from one project to the next and lose interest in the original project. Jewlery making was big for me at one point and I did well selling it, but I had no drive to sell it.My most recent project is my "Rock Friends". I paint rocks that I've collected from the beach with acryllic paints. It seems like every rock I see these days has a cute little face that emerges. :The other issue, having to do with the air element. You mentioned movement. I reinjured an old ACL (knee) injury from 2001. I havn't been able to get out running all winter due to cold and snow, but I also feel very limited in what I can do until I get an MRI and possibly surgery, again. I recently started running again, short distances and only 2-3 times per week. I would have never put the two together. Throat Chakra and my knee. :-/Anyway, didn't mean to cary on like that. No wait, yes I did! That would be creating a block in my throat Chakra to have denied that little babble, right?

But, I'm wondering if there is anything I could say to encourage her more since I don't have any specific knowlede of hand placement and what not.In my class we were taught that where we place our hands is not nearly as important as the presence we bring and the space we hold. Perhaps focusing on that would help... are you able to tune in to her level of presence throughout the session? If not, you might simply ask her how much her mind wanders and invite her to practice more awareness of it.
