MW Table warmer problem

I have the digital table warmer from Massage Warehouse. It's a year old, and I do not use it for every session. Well, it seems that it has conked out on me. The digital control still works but it just doesn't get warm.

An LMT friend of mine has the same one... only about 18 months old, she also does not use it all the time. Hers has quit working too.

I was just wondering if anyone else has this warmer and has experienced its early demise, or if I just have a bad one? At any rate, I will have to buy another.

My table warmer is a twin sized mattress warmer. I bought it used (like new) about 3 years ago and use it 75% of the time. Still works like a charm.

I bought a new one for a second treatment room from a local store on clearance, this is the time to buy them. It cost me about $20.

I have the "non"-digital table warmer that is sold through MW. I've used it (a lot) for close to 2 years and it's still going strong (knock on wood)

Perhaps you just got a bad one??

I bought mine on Amazon... it is Horrible!!! It works when it wants to, most of the time I see that the lights are blinking !!!error!!

Breathe, I have the same digital table warmer you do from MW. Mine has been working like a champ (knock wood!) and I use it with every single client -- all day long -- during the cold PA winter months.

Maybe it would be worth a phone call or e-mail to MW? I'm sure you, like the rest of us, have been a mighty good customer!

I use the same one as you do, Breathe, at the salon where I work. It's working just fine, but the thing that drives me crazy is the fact that it only stays on for 99 minutes maximum. When I'm doing a 90 minute massage (often) I like to pre-heat it, and yet I'd like it to stay on for the whole massage. If I don't time my pre-heat just right, it shuts off. Also, all those beep-beep-beeps are annoying when I have to change time or temp. I really miss the one I had for my own clients (also from MW) that had a simple off/low/high switch that stayed on until I turned it off. Unfortunately, that one "died" one day. Just stopped working. I replaced that one with one of the twin bed heaters (from another massage equipment website, don't remember which one) but I don't really like that one, either, because it's got a big plug end at the bottom that sticks out too much and it's got (loose) elastic all around the sides and ends that kind of hangs down below my fitted sheet. Yuck. Wish I could find the old, non-digital, full table, four elastic corner straps one that I had before. Anyone see any out there anywhere?

Thanks guys. Maybe it is just mine. I'll try calling MW -- well, Scrip, now-- but since it's just over a year old, I'm not expecting much. It's not under warranty anymore, obviously.

If you're getting a new warmer, try the Sunbeam twin bed warmer found at Wal-Mart for around $22. I've had mine for about 5 years now and it's still going well!

I have a sunbeam twin bed warmer. It works really well, but it's quite bulky at the sides. (I know, picky picky.) I really like the flat warmers that just strap on to the table, but I guess I'll have to try something else.

Ok i was gonna suggest the Sunbeam too. I just picked one up for 15.00 at Walmart. I have not tried it on the table yet but I figure its a pretty good deal and I can't go to wrong with that price, so if I hate the side bulk i will use it for something else.

I didn't like the bulkiness on the sides either, so I carefully cut all the excess away, being cautious not to cut into any of the wires. You can see the wires easily and I haven't had any trouble with it since then. I'm on my fourth year with it, I think. I use a fleece pad over it so that holds it in place pretty well. I don't like the bulky end with the plug, but I just live with that. Lisa

Yeah, I have a fleece pad over mine too. It just makes it more comfy. I think laying directly on the coils feels odd.

When I moved, I had my daughter wipe down my table. She noticed an odd pattern on the table and asked me what it was. I could see a pattern on the table when the table was damp. It was coil marks from the heating pad. Odd.... my son swore he could feel an indentation on the table where the coil marks were, but I couldnt feel a difference.

Again, I could only see the coil marks when the table was damp. Has anyone eles noticed this?

I have the flat one at Sam's (ordered online / good price). Never had a problem with it (4 + years old). It's not bulky and I haven't seen any indentions in my table itself. Have it under a eggcrate and matress pad. I wipe the table quite frequently with lysol wipes.

Note: the one it this link has the electrical attachment in the middle of the warmer end. Mine has the attachment in a corner. That's the only difference I can see.

That looks exactly like the one I have. Geesh....Sam's price is a whole lot cheaper than MW price. I'll have to remember that if I ever need to buy a nother one.

The one I have gets really hot. The only time I use it on "high" is when I'm doing a wrap and I have many layers of blankets in between the client and the warmer. Normally I keep in on either low or medium.

Love the Sunbeam twin bed size mattress warmer!! Use it all the time.
Side bulk can be greatly diminished by buying 2 sets of sheet garters and using them to pull the bulk down and under the table --- also helps keep the pad from slipping around a lot.

I too bought the MW digital table warmer and was greatly disappointed. I think I used it a few times and then when I really decided I wanted to get serious and use it with every client to warm up the table it did not work at all. It just blinked at me in error and I could never get it to work. Unfortunately, it was a year after I bought it so returning it was not an option. I have bought the same table warmer everyone else has mentioned, the Sunbeam twim mattress warmer from Wal-mart and LOVE IT!!!!! I use it with every client, it is on all day long (while cold) and it has been going strong for over a year. Give it a try, so many recommendations, sounds like a winner !

I got my Sunbeam twin heating pad from Walmart, following all the recommendations here, and am in heaven with how well it works. My clients love it too.
(and now I don't have to use all the hot packs I used to use, which took time to heat up and to lug back and forth between the office & the microwave. ) Its wonderful to
just flip the pad on & be ready to go

I know this is way after the original posts were posted, but I recently ordered the digital table warmer (88-166 deg.) from MW.- Just wanted to warn everyone:


The first table warmer came, did not heat up. I use this same warmer at the spa I work at and know it can get very warm.

Returned it and they sent me another. I had the same problem with the second, so I called the 1-800# on the back of the warmer. The women told me a "bad batch" had went out to MW, and was going to speak w/them and call me back, but I heard from noone.

BIG runaround from MW, they told me they would have recieved an email if there was a bad batch from the distributer etc. Anyway,
two different mgrs. there that were supposed to get back to me never did.
This whole thing is going on 3 weeks now. I was surprised and disapointed

I ended up finally buying from ebay. Its on the way. Hopefully it will work.

Just wanted to pass along a suggestion to all those just
starting to use table warmers. They warm up faster and
better when you top the whole table with heavier coverings.

I generally keep the extra layers on the top of my sheets & standard blankets until shortly before my client is due to arrive. That way the whole table is nice & toasty !
