Does anyone use any computer programs to track their clients, do soap notes, etc?  I'd like to get something but would really like to get my hands on a free sample if anyone has any ideas...

Take a look at the "Massage Office Software" topic on this board (http://www.massageplanet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=12303) as a start.

If you need to produce Massage SOAP Notes that comply with Diana Thompson's guidelines in her book "Hands Heal: Communication, Documentation, and Insurance Billing for Manual Therapists", consider using WinCity Massage SOAP Notes (http://www.wincityinc.com). Of course, I might be slightly biased as far as SOAP Notes are concerned.

Personally I am a huge fan of Massage Office by Island Software.  The original (2.2) is plenty enough to get started, however the pro version is worth it's weight in gold!  I think they give out trial versions, but I'm not 100% sure. Good luck!

Customer Pro-File by Land Software is (IMHO) the best for the money.

It's less than half the cost of most others and is very full featured.  

It has a Mac version and a free trial.

Island Software does have trial versions.  I have a few in my office if you can't get them to send you one.  I pass them out to people in my area, because I like the company so much.  You should be able to contact them and get a sample CD though.I have to write a few comments on the origianal post where we talked about all of this, in the near future.  Right now we are working with the Pro Version and waiting for a few bug updates they are going to be putting out (I think).  So I wanted to save my final post on the program until then.  For now, I can say -- Very small office, it will do you loads of good to get started with Island Software's 2.2 version.  As you see how that does you, then consider moving into the Pro Version, as it has a lot more options.  I would start small and work up.  However, the Pro Version is a few hundred dollars and if you were to save a dollar a day for a year, you'd have it paid for at the end.  It really does do a lot more as far as stats and receipts, etc.Good luck and hopefully, I'll be writing my final informative post on the Pro Version in the next few months on the other thread.

I just downloaded the free version of Massage Office and I LOVE IT!!!  I'm inputting my client files, soap notes, etc., as we speak.  I'm planning on purchasing the full version soon, but it's great!  Thanks for the lead!

i've been going over all of these threads searching for software that manages your clients (SOAP notes), has an appt calendar AND allows for online scheduling. and one that could export to my palm pilot would kick too. is it just me or does that not exist?

I would love a laptop with a massage program!!!! does any one know what program works on a emachines window xp laptop that the one i want to buy.....

You don't want a "wonderful" program, but I am not sure what you do want. Are you also looking for a program that works with a palm and does the online scheduling like the poster above, or something else?

sorry i was in a hurry and i have dyslexia so spelling and typing aren't my strong points!! lol what i meant to say is a wonderful program would be a hassle because my computer is at home and not at the office so i would have to run home to use the program to print receipts and do soap notes for every client. I need a palm pilot or a laptop that can wirelessly hookup to the Internet and a printer plus the software for my business that works on the pda. sorry for the confusion Pueppi the other post is worded badly!!!

We use software by Lytec Medical. Not sure where they are online but I'm sure you could google them if interested. We've used their software for over 13 yrs now and have been happy with it.

Lytec is a nice program, thanks for the reminder. I have a friend who uses it.

I am not up on the different softwares as of late, so I don't know about the palm situation.

But the Lytec reminded me that there is another software by a company called Eon Systems. I'll try to get a link. Maybe they would have something that would work for the massage field too.

I have installed the massage suite and its ok but it does not let you checkout clients from the appointment book or make soap note from there either so..... :roll: I also go the free demo for customer pro-file which i think is great because it has just one therapist and not 99 so that's good for me but again you cannot make soap note or checkout clients from the appointment book. to me this is a big issue because i am dyslexic and I have a greater chance of goofing up and making the appointment for Jane doe, checking out Jan done, and doing soap notes on gene deco!!! and if i have a multiple therapist option the i make appointments for me under another therapist and i only have one therapist!!! i would have lost appointments and double booked all over the place!!! yuck :? :? :? I work for a massage clinic and he had massage office pro and it was fantastic but there was 3 thereapist and we always had a big issue with who has what client on what day and double or triple booking clients because everyone had there own calender which is great for one therapist who makes her-his own appointments but the phone rings and you make an appointment for sally on cindys calender and sally dont see it or know about it. see the probelm?
massage office pro is expencive and i can afford it my self so I guess what i what is a knock off version that works just like it but have one therapist and all the bells and whisles other wise but half the price!!!

If you are dyslexic, I have found Massage Office is very color coded, which helps me, BUT - no palm syncing that I am aware of.

The color coding helps immensely.

I LOVE color coded stuff!!!! Massage Office Pro was not color coded so do you mean Massage suite? the demo i Have is color coded but you can not check out a cleint useing the calender or make soap notes : : : . But the person who answered my email did say the may put that feature in !!! yahoooooo!!! but until then... I wonder if they can make it sync up to a palm?

How do you sign the soaps when they are on the computer?? Are you printing them out?? Putting your name or initials somewhere???

Massage Office is color coded in the appointment book and for the SOAP's when you draw what is wrong with your client onto the pictures. Not sure if that helps. I was talking about Massage Office.

Not sure why yours isn't and you can't make SOAP's. Maybe the trial version doesn't let you? t102

Oh sorry Yes it color codes like pain is red and ache is green but its not color coded as far as therapist one appointments are green and therapist 2 is red....Is there a way to have just one therapist one the program? the demo have jane doe and jonh smith and that is confusing because i put me in there to and i make an appointment and i have to hunt to find it!!! yuck.....maybe if i read the instuctions again?!!! :roll:
